Better ways of working

There’s a better way.

There almost always is. We look at how your business actually runs, find the steps that are costing more than they give back, and make the better way real, usually with the systems and equipment you already have.

You don’t need to know what’s wrong. Most people who call us don’t.

What we believe

There is almost always a better way to do something. Our job is to find it, and then to make it happen.

How we think, in three lines.

These are the rules we hold ourselves to. They’re also why our answers don’t always look like what you expected.

01

Questions before answers.

Nobody can fix what they haven’t understood. We start by watching how the work really happens, which is rarely how it’s written down.

02

Use what’s already there.

Old isn’t the same as broken. The equipment on your walls and the software you already pay for can usually do more than anyone has asked of them.

03

Simpler is the goal.

A better way takes away steps. If what we build needs a manual and a training day, we haven’t finished.

Fair warning

We’re nerds. Happily.

We read the manual for fun. We open the panel to see how it’s wired. We get a little too excited when two systems that were never meant to meet start talking to each other.

That curiosity is the whole service. It’s how we find the answer nobody thought to look for, and it’s why we enjoy the work. Your life gets easier along the way.

  • Favourite question: “why is it done this way?”
  • Favourite sound: an alarm that never needs to go off again.
  • Least favourite phrase: “we’ve always done it like that.”

Not sure what could be better? Show us anyway.

A process, a building, a spreadsheet everyone is afraid to touch. Send us what you have, even if you’re not sure what’s wrong with it. We’ll take a look and tell you what we see.
